 I wouldn't introduce special "standby" handling for the reasons above.
 It's pretty common that a network connection will drop, so I'd just
 suggest to reconnect without issuing big errors.
 I just noticed that there is indeed a "connecing" icon displayed, so
 forget what I wrote about it.
