 You should definitely use a build matching the rest of pidgin. Whoever did
 the RHEL4 build will need to include meanwhile and meanwhile-devel in
 their build environment environment so that libpurple-meanwhile will be
 built. Incidentally, the same goes for SILC.

 If you install meanwhile[-devel], you should be able to rpmbuild -tb
 pidgin-2.0.0.tar.gz, which will generate RPMs built for your system,
 including the sametime plugin.
