 I already filed a bug about this when there was a bug tracker on SF, but
 since it's gone I'll write this here again.
 The display of away sate and messages is very inconsistent with ICQ. There
 are several states ("away","N/A","occupied",...) which have a message
 associated with them. In pidgin 2.0 if a buddy is "away" then the away
 message set by the user is displayed (with a duration in front if the
 buddys client supports that), but for all other states just the state
 description "e.g. not available" is shown on the contact list.
 IMHO it would be great if the buddy's message is always shown, the exact
 state can be seen in the popup and with the icon. This would be also much
 more consistent.
