Comment:

 I did compile Pidgin myself. I didn't pass any other options to configure.
 I'll attach the output of "./configure"

 Also, I just noticed it also does this when I try to set my buddy icon /
 display picture, before I choose the image. So perhaps this is a problem
 with the open/save file dialog.
