 I upgraded Edgy this morning after adding extra repositories and upon
 loading Pidgin was greeted with not readable text.  All text within Pidgin
 is rendered as blocks.  This is the output I get on the command line while
 running Pidgin:

 (pidgin:17661): Pango-CRITICAL **: _pango_cairo_font_mat_get_rendere:
 assertions 'PANG_IS_CAIRO_FONT_MAP (fontmap)' failed

 I can reproduce the error every time as I haven't been able to rid myself
 of the problem.  I've completely removed, compiled and installed, didn't
 help.
