Comment (by eddyp):
Second try...
[[BR]]
<eddyp> ari: ping
[[BR]]
* eddyp just saw again pidgin/gaim hide the window after sending a message
[[BR]]
* eddyp uses etch
[[BR]]
<kaol> it's just shy
[[BR]]
<eddyp> kaol: s/shy/broken/ and you have a true statement :-)
[[BR]]
<jamessan> isn't that an option it has?
[[BR]]
* kagyau (~kevin at 66.83.54.226.nw.nuvox.net) has joined #debian-devel
[[BR]]
<eddyp> jamessan: it shouldn't hide it once I started typing
[[BR]]
<eddyp> it should go automatically out of away when I send a message
[[BR]]
[...]
[[BR]]
<ari> whatever your IM windows are doing, it's not gaim's fault
[[BR]]
<eddyp> ari: "<ari> whatever your IM windows are doing, it's not gaim's
fault", true, is the programmers' fault :-D
[[BR]]
<ari> the programmer of your WM
[[BR]]
<eddyp> ari: really now, not reverting the status to "not idle" *when* I
selected the message window, typed a message *and* sent it, is a bug; the
action of me sending a message makes me non-idel, by definition
[[BR]]
<eddyp> ari: blame metacity if you like, but that is the wrong approach,
AFAICT ... gaim should revert the status to available when I send the
message
[[BR]]
<eddyp> in this way the windows should not be minimized, immediately after
I sent the message
[[BR]]
<ari> eddyp: wait, you're complaining about the Iconify on Away plugin/
[[BR]]
<ari> ?
[[BR]]
<ari> < ari> eddyp: wait, you're complaining about the Iconify on Away
plugin?
[[BR]]
<eddyp> right
[[BR]]
<ari> uh
[[BR]]
* glatzor has quit (Quit: Ex-Chat)
[[BR]]
<ari> so either a) disable the plugin, or b) write a plugin to
automatically set yourself available when you send a message
[[BR]]
* florent (~florent at pluton.sarcelle.net) has joined #debian-devel
[[BR]]
<eddyp> ari: or c) fix/complain about the bad behaviour of the existant
plugin
