 This happened to me too.  Though, I was able to delete the group after I
 logged on with all my accounts, and deleted all my offline buddies.

 The offline buddies don't appear if you're not logged on, but it won't let
 you delete the group if there are buddies in that group for an offline
 account.  Kind of frustrating if you don't realize it.
