 I regularly use Adium X on OSX for various protocols, including Jabber to
 connect to a Jabber 1.4.3 server running on Linux, which I manage myself.

 I have encountered a very annoying problem in Adium version 1.0.3, and an
 Adium developer suggested that it's due to a bug in libpurple 2.0.0, which
 they are using.

 In my jabber account I have some details in my vCard (I entered them with
 other programs - Psi on OSX, JAJC on Win - as Adium still doesn't offer
 this functionality).
 Specifically, the XML file which stores my account info on the server has
 those details enclosed in <vCard><DESC></DESC></vCard> tags.

 The problem is that Adium deletes all those details as soon as it logs me
 in on the server, and they have to be entered again from scratch (or
 recovered from a backup of the XML file, of course).

 It never happened with other versions of the program, before they started
 using libpurple 2.0.0.
