Since a few days I got some connection problems with my Linksys router,
which is by some reason caused to interrupt the connection to the
internet. I think it is caused by the msn protocol, because after
deactivating it seems to work. However there is no evidendence.

While looking for the source of this interrupt, I noticed that Msn, Y! and
Jabber automatically reconnect to the related servers. But Icq doesn't.
You can check that by reconnecting from the internet and then sending a
message to yourself. Msn, Y! and Jabber send the same answer back. Icq
doesn't and needs a manual reconnect. That's really bothering, because a
lot of conversation stuff could be lost in data nirvana. You think you are
still online (If you don't notice, that there was a reconnection), but in
 fact you aren't.

It's just an idea, but would be a great help. Perhaps other messaging
 protocols got the same problems?
