 I don't know how to reproduce this, but it has been observed (in pidgin
 2.0.0).

 Both the contact priority and guifications plugins were active when this
 was observed. It is not know whether this is a bug in contact priority, or
 pidgin proper, or both.

 The problem:
  * A contact contains 4 buddies
  * Guifications shows one of the 4 buddies that make up the contact as
 just signed on
  * The buddy list does not show the buddy
  * When I enabled Show Offline Buddies, the buddy list shows the contact
 as offline
  * When I hover over the contact, it shows that the buddy that is online
 (MSN if that matters) with status "Away" is below the other 3 buddies that
 are offline

 After a while, the buddy sent me an IM. This makes pidgin suddenly aware
 that the contact should be "Away" instead of "Offline". It then appeared
 on the buddy list, and hoverng over the contact in "Show Offline Buddies"
 then showed the online buddy at the top of the list.
