 I am experiencing a similar problem. Pidgin worked fine after installation
 with Yahoo!, MSN and GTalk (Jabber). But it started crashing on startup
 after a few days.
 So I cleared the accounts XML file and discovered that it crashes upon
 creation of a Yahoo account. It works fine with MSN and GTalk.
