 Tabs are great when you have multiple conversations running but we don't
 need to see a tab when there is only one conversation. In version 1.5 it
 wouldn't show any tabs until you had at least 2 conversations running. I
 have attached a few images.

 oneTab - Shows what the window looks like when you have tabs enabled with
 only one conversation
 noTab - This is what it should look like if you have tabs enabled but only
 have one conversation
