Comment:

 The duplicate buddies appearing offline is definitely another issue; if
 you could open a new ticket about it (of course after making sure one
 doesn't already exist) that would be great, since each ticket should deal
 with exactly one issue.  I'd go so far as to say that it's probably a bug
 for libpurple to allow you to add the same buddy to the same group on the
 same account twice if this is what is happening.

 I'm closing this bug since the ticket's original issue is fixed.  I'm also
 changing the component to libpurple because the issue was actually in
 libpurple.  This may prove useful in the future.

 Thanks in advance for your cooperation in opening a new ticket about the
 duplicate buddies appearing offline.
