 did you patched against MSNP14 branch ??  I have the last mnt revision of
 MSNP14
 maybe you are patching against im.pidgin.pidgin

 and be careful adding the pref in the "purple" section..  btw if you add
 this in a wrong way the debug log will tell you that "can't find
 /smiley/custom"
