 I just created a new MSN account and set the password to 20 characters. It
 has been 2 days since I scratched my head wondering why Pidgin says my
 email and password is incorrect.

 I even made packet captures (WireShark) to see the communications between
 Pidgin and the server, comparing to the official Windows Messenger on my
 XP. I took into considerations these:

 1. Different servers used. Changed servers - same problem
 2. Messenger Live service for new accounts uses different method - nope.

 So I tried a simple thing - changed my password to the minimum required
 length - 6. Voila! It worked.

 I am just guessing that this is a Pidgin (libpurple) limitation, if not
 please pardon me and let me know.
