Comment:

 I'd imagine there'd be uproar if we did remove it. Doesn't Ubuntu actually
 include this as loaded by default?

 Since there are apparently people who benefit from it, and there's a
 simple enough work around for people that it crashes for, I'd suggest
 leaving it around until it finds a maintainer.

 Since that won't happen in the next few hours, retargetted.
