Hi, I'm sorry if this sounds a bit stupid, but I've done a bit of research
and still can't find the answer to my question.

My keyboard is configured as US-International, as I often type in Spanish,
which requires accents and other special characters (á, ñ, ¡, ¿, etc.).
This means that in order to enter an apostrophe I have to type '+[space].
Moreover, in most programs, when I type '+[any consonant], it simply
enters the apostrophe and the consonant; this is particularly useful for
 possessives in English: 's.

But for some reason in Pidgin when I enter ' followed by some consonants
(such as n and s but not with t) it puts the ' on top of the consonants
(ś, ń, ŕ, ć). Is there any way to get around this? Thank you.
