 It was my intention for all the morning long, but I couldn't find enought
 information that describe the way to accomplish that: build agains msvcrt.

 I have the WinDDK on my machine, and tried to build libpurple against the
 files present on it, what I think will result on the desired link with
 msvcrt.dll.

 Unfortunately, I got some undefined symbols, and couldn't find threads on
 any foruns that starting with this exact condition (with those symbols as
 missed) finishes point how to fix it.

 I'll keep trying that, as I agree with you that it could be the better way
 to solve this and other problems I had, and that I will possibly have.
