 On another note, tell me if I should post this as another ticket.

 The dialog is asking me if "would you like to set the buddy icon for this
 user?" - which makes me understand that it means to set the avatar for the
 user in that conversation window. Which is ok, under the functionality of
 "set custom icon".

 However, since "set custom icon" is only available from right-click on the
 avatar picture in the conversation window, I would expect that this
 drag&drop feature would work this way also, only on the avatar picture
 area. Over the rest of the conversation window area I would like to expect
 the file transfer to begin, just like with other types of files.

 Even the above suggested dialog may be a hamper because of the expectation
 for drag&drop to just work, no confirmations.
