New description:

 If you are using a rectangular buddy icon, it gets stretched out to be
 square in the buddy list window, next to the status drop down box (I'm not
 sure what you would call it, the buddy icon selector?).  It doesn't seem

 have beta 5 running on a Linux computer, and the problem is present there
