 I think mark-t covered my views nearly exactly. I don't like option 7. I
 think option 1 is the easiest and covers things well enough. If someone
 complains about that, then we can implement option 2. My rationale is
 this: If you are at the computer to change the status, why wouldn't you
 want your accounts signed on? The NAME_IN_USE things are for when you sign
 on elsewhere, right?
