 Depends on where you want this functionality.

 SIM has this bug: when you highlight text in the message window (where you
 type), it would, too, get automatically copied.

 So imagine: you have something you want to paste into the window. You copy
 it, say, in FF. You come back to the message window, press Ctrl+A and
 Delete to delete any text that was there previously and press Ctl+V in
 order to paste... surprise! the text you just deleted :)

 Another scenario that may happen if you don't handle auto-copy properly
 is: you have something in clipboard and accidentally switch to the
 converstion window. Will the highlighted text automatically replace
 whatever's in your clipboard?
