 I use pidgin on my work laptop on Windows XP. I have an external proxy
 manager which changes the environment proxy settings according to the
 network that I connected to. Basically if I am connected to the work
 network then the proxy manager configures the system to get the proxy
 settings automatically using a "proxy automatic configuration script". As
 I understand it, this script is basically a javascript.

 When setting pidgin to get the environment settings of the proxy, it
 doesn't search for the proxy automatic configuration, and it fails to
 connect.
 If I configure pidgin with the direct URL of the proxy at work, I can't
 connect at home where I don't have proxy.

 So it is basically a nag using pidgin both at home and work.
