 From debian 4 etch net install (stable), pidgin package is not available
 via aptitude.
 I searched pidgin package on >> Debian  >> Packages  >> Package Search
 from
 http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=pidgin&searchon=names&suite=stable&section=all
 and found nothing so only gaim is available, gaim is at 1:2.0.0+be version
 in aptitude.
 After I installed gaim on Debain 4 (1.7 GHz Celeron, 768 RAM) gaim fails..
 almost always, with this error:

 Gaim has segfaulted and attempted to dump a core file.
 This is a bug in the software and has happened through
 no fault of your own.

 I don't have any plugins installed, this is just the base gaim. (I renamed
 prefs.xml to old but useless)
