 Yup, after installing libnss3-dev and recompiling with --enable-nss=yes
 --enable-gnutls=no it works again.  I'd still like to know which version
 of GNU TLS is *meant* to work, given the code to use it is there.  There
 seems to have been an awful lot of churn in that purple/pidgin code lately
 without any useful documentation for end users/compilers (I looked all
 over the Wiki, which unusefully only seems to mention very old Debian
 versions or very old GNUTLS versions (0.9.92 ?), I also checked all of the
 INSTALL, README, ChangeLog and NEWS files in the source, with no
 inspiration).
