 I just upgraded Pidgin to 2.2.2 (from 2.1.1) on freshly installed openSUSE
 10.3 and it works fine with MSN:

  HTTP Method server: gateway.messenger.hotmail.com
  Show custom smileys: checked
  Proxy type: No Proxy
 }}}
 What is your proxy type setting?
