 Despite hours of trying and reading the config file and the output I
 couldn't figure out why it wouldn't install finch even with --enable-
 consoleui explicitly set. I'm running Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, and using apt-get
 to get ncurses-dev and libncursesw5-dev got it to work finally.

 with --enable-consoleui a fatal error should be thrown if it gets disabled
 for any reason.
