Comment:

 --disable-schemas-install is only intended to stop registering the schemas
 in the global gconf database, not prevent copying the files in the 'make
 install' step.

 This switch is present to allow packagers to include the schema files in
 their build/installation but not register them at build time, instead they
 are registered and unregistered during package
 installation/uninstallation.
