 I have noticed that it is possible to see x-status message in rare cases!!

 One of my contacts has the latest QIP 8040 and Winamp Plugin installed.

 And I can see the status set by this plugin. This is the only case I can
 see Xstatus message when user is online. Otherwise I can see only away
 status message.
