 On my home computer Pidgin correctly gets the Names and aliases for users
 from Yahoo. On my work computer however, in the exact same version of
 pidgin, that does not work: I am presented with a list of 150 Yahoo IDs
 which mean nothing to me.

 Now, the only difference betweem my home and work setup is that my work
 connection uses a proxy. This has been correctly setup, and in fact most
 aspects of Pidgin work correctly. From what I read from previous tickets,
 the user details are taken using a separate connection... maybe that
 ignores the proxy settings?
