 On every computer I have seen, the newest version of Pidgin (2.2.2), when
 backspace is pressed in an IM window where there is no text, rather than a
 windows beep, a system beep is done, even when the sound is muted.  This
 is excessively loud and annoying since there is no way to mute it.
