 Not really. I know when things are going to turn into icons, so normally I
 would type whatever it is I want to send, then add spaces to avoid all the
 emoticonification. You see how turning things into icons interferes with
 that.

 Apparently this is really a matter of preference, so I'll just disable it
 if it ever comes into being :)
