 I'm glad people are agreeing on this, but it's been six months since my
 submission and I don't think the idea will gain any traction unless
 someone with motivation actually codes and presents a working
 modification.

 Unfortunately my current schedule does not allow for such niceties, but I
 think it would be a great addition to pidgin if anyone sees this and has
 the time.
