Comment:

 The behavior changed in 2.3.0 such that any plugins assuming that there
 was a UI attached to the conversation at the time it was created would
 either crash or not work correctly.  In this case, it is the OTR plugin
 that is crashing, but the same issue exists with plugins that were
 distributed with pidgin (Timestamp, Text Replacement, Gestures).

 I think we need to change the behavior back to the way it was before so
 that new hidden conversations are attached to a dummy hidden window in
 order to avoid breaking plugins.
