Comment:

 This works fine on pre-Vista and I don't have a Vista box to test on (the
 API documentation doesn't appear to have changed, but there are lots of
 undocumented behavior changes in Vista).  I'll throw together a test case
 for you to run so that we can fix this.

 In the mean time, you should be able to redirect the output to a file and
 gather that information from the file instead of the console: `pidgin -d >
 out.log`
