 After fresh installation of GTK+ and pidgin 2.2.0 on windows, pidgin was
 working fine. Starting from next day, after a system reboot, pidgin won't
 start anymore. The process 'pidgin.exe' is running for about 10 to 15
 seconds (seen in Task Manager) and then stops for no obvious reason. At no
 time there is any pidgin window visible.

 I just renamed my .purple/prefs.xml in order to exclude any plugin issues,
 but that didn't change a thing. When trying to start pidgin afterwards, a
 new prefs.xml was not created.

 Also, I just updated to latest pidgin 2.2.1, but nothing changed. Neither
 helped reinstallation of pidgin nor GTK+.

 I attached my pidgin.RPT and my debug.log to this thread.
