 When I tried to send a dummy email notification from plugin_load (in a
 perl plugin), pidgin crashed
 in pidgin/gtkblist.c:pidgin_blist_set_headline() on the line that reads:

                 if (!GTK_WIDGET_HAS_FOCUS(gtkblist->window))

 this is with the debian package:
 pidgin:
   Installed: 2.2.1-1
