Comment:

 This is not actually related at all to IRC, it is simply related to the
 way Pidgin handles chats.

 Some of your request is handled by the new persistent chat functionality
 (thanks to Sadrul) which will be released soon.  Notification of your nick
 being said I cannot speak to -- perhaps Sadrul can.
