Comment:

 The so-called color support in IRC is completely non-standard--it does not
 appear in the standard that defines IRC.  The fact that mIRC and other
 clients provide easy access to this non-standard feature does not make it
 any less non-standard.  We are not in the habit of supporting non-standard
 protocol features.
