#3602: Forward to Mobile Issue
----------------------------+-----------------------------------------------
 Reporter: omairee | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: minor
Component: pidgin (gtk) | Version: 2.2.1
Keywords: forward mobile | Pending: 0
----------------------------+-----------------------------------------------
I am using Windows Vista, and Pidgin 2.2.1, but have also used Pidgin
since version 1.5, and started on Windows XP.

I have yet to get Pidgin to properly forward IMs to Mobile, even though
the settings have been changed on AIM itself. If I sign off of Pidgin, IMs
forward properly, but as long as I am on Pidgin, even if I set my status
to Mobile, nothing occurs. I'm not sure if I am setting this up in Pidgin
improperly, or if it is a feature that is not handled in Pidgin.

Like I said, if I were to exit out of Pidgin, any IMs sent to my
screenname would be forwarded properly to my phone, but I have been
completely unable to make it work in Pidgin and I think I have gone
through every combination of options to make it.

Maybe the issue is on the coding end, maybe the issue is with me, I do not
know. I kindly ask for some help, as the other two tickets about this
issue seem to have been forgotten about. Sorry to have opened a dupe, but
I feel correcting this issue would make Pidgin a complete replacement for
AIM (and I absolutely despise the new versions of AIM). In regular AIM, I
use and abuse the Forward to Mobile feature, and there seems to be at
least three other people beside bugged by this issue, and I believe it
would make all of us extremely happy to be offered some assistance, and
hopefully even a solution, and I'm sure there are many more that would
either be glad to have this feature back, and others who will learn to
 start using it.
