 Hi

 No, this is not the case. Even with *everything* closed, the conversation
 window will pop up. Sometimes, I have not spoken to this buddy for days,
 and as soon as she IMs me, the conversation window pops up.

 I know it seems like a minor problem, but it can be quite big in terms of
 personal privacy. If there's anything I can do to help (even as far as
 playing with the source), I'd be willing to help.
