 The Pidgin log viewer formats smilies in message timestamps. This is most
 noticeable when using a custom smiley pack that interprets, say, 8) as 8-)
 (the MSN eyes-rolling smiley and the AIM cool smiley), which causes any
 timestamp ending with 8) (e.g. (21:36:58)) to come out with a smiley on
 the end instead of 8).

 I have only tested this with MSN and AIM, but seeing as it affects both in
 the same way, I'm assuming that it's present for other protocols, too.
