 Oh right. Yes, I am using the history plugin. I should probably have filed
 this request under that plugin. Apologies. But yes I am an "impulsive
 conversation window closer" who would like to see more of the previous
 conversation displayed in the current conversation window, because my
 friends tend to continue old conversations after hours of idling.

 Increasing the number of lines of backlog displayed will solve this, and
 this seems like the only solution as changing the behaviour of my friends
 is not really an option.  ;)

 So i'm guessing that adding this option to the (absent) config option of
 the history plugin would certainly solve this.
