 Yes, being there for a very short time is exactly the plugin changing the
 title and then pidgin overwriting the title again. And that you are seeing
 that means that the plugin is in fact working (as opposed to your initial
 description which states that it isn't). The title settings notifications
 have been largely useless for quite a while, I have intended to work out a
 useful way to fix them for ages now but have been unable to decide on a
 useful fix (at least part of the fix would likely entail auditing the
 current pidgin code to attempt to minimize the frequency with which it
 sets the window titles). Patches welcome which cut down on unnecessary
 title settings from pidgin, or which implement any of the possible
 solutions for this problem. Feel free to contact me if you want to head
 what my thoughts on solutions to this problem.
