 In Kopete, (http://kopete.kde.org/), you can group contacts together, so
 that one contact can have multiple protocols.  The website above shows
 this.  Kopete then picks the first available protocol that the person is
 online with, and uses that to IM the contact.

 This is very useful when having a lot of contacts, on multiple protocols -
 otherwise the contact list gets quite long.  (as for why they can't all
 use the same protocol, i'll never know!)

 Any chance of this being able to happen for pidgin too?
