Comment:

 Far from consistently it is intermittent, and quite rare.  It happened to
 me a couple of days ago, but not since a system restart. It happens when I
 ''right'' mouse button on the Pidgin system tray icon.  While my mouse
 pointer is in the Pidgin menu it shows the "Vertically increase/decrease
 window" pointer (I incorrectly reported it as the Busy pointer
 originally). I've seen symptoms like this on other programs in the past,
 but not in over a year now. I get the effect in Pidgin about once a week.

 As I said originally, I'm mostly casting around to see if anyone else has
 the problem. If not, then I'll live with it; it is only cosmetic.
