Comment:

 Yeah, it looks like our python/dbus checks are in fact broken and that it
 failed to correctly disable dbus when it failed to find python.

 However, there is a reason the configure script prints out a list of what
 will and will not be built at the end of the run, and not reading
 configure/build logs is (or at least skimming them) is generally not a
 very good policy.

 I'm assigning this ticket to myself and will either take care of it myself
 or have someone else fix it (hopefully) before the next release.
