 Will, you're absolutely welcome to start (well actually continue since
 you've already submitted this patch to the simple plugin).

 The way this typically works is that you can submit patches and they'll be
 reviewed and, when they're ready, committed.  If you continue to do this
 for a while and are submitting good patches, it is quite likely that
 you'll eventually be granted commit access so you can commit your own
 patches.

 That reminds me that I need to commit the rest of this patch based on the
 comments of the OpenSER folks.
