Comment:

 I just pushed a fix for this.  And file names >=64 characters work now,
 too.  The fix will be in Pidgin 2.2.0 when it's released.  Please let me
 know if you still have problems after that.

 Thanks for tracking this down and being persistent and filing an excellent
 bug report.  Also, feel free to submit patches :-)  Even if you have a
 patch that you don't think is quite finished, throw it up here and tell us
 what you think needs work--it's often easier for us to have a jump start
 rather than starting from scratch.
