 I have a program that emulates virtual desktops on Windows called
 VirtuaWin, and it does this by hiding windows that aren't on the current
 desktop. It generally works well, but what I want to do is dock my buddy
 list on one desktop and not the others. The problem is, when I dock the
 buddy list, it reserves part of the screen (as expected), but when I
 "switch desktops", the buddy list gets hidden but doesn't un-reserve it's
 section of the screen, so I lose functionality in that part of the screen
 and only see my background. The steps are again outlined here:
